Norfolk hospital signs mental health pledge

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has signed up to the Time to Change employer pledge which demonstrates a commitment to raising awareness of mental health in the workplace.

The pledge was signed by members of the executive team including director of workforce Jeremy Over and medical director Peter Chapman.

It comes as part of a series of events and activities organised for staff as part of Mental Health Awareness Week this week.

A team from workplace health and wellbeing at NNUH have arranged yoga meditation sessions, mindfulness colouring, wellbeing walks and workshops encouraging staff to discuss mental health and find ways to support colleagues.

Tessa Beecroft, health and wellbeing coordinator said: 'We're delighted to be marking Mental Health Awareness Week with a range of activities for NNUH staff. Teams across the hospital and at different hospital sites have been getting involved and making their individual pledges towards starting conversations on mental health in the workplace.'

Having signed the pledge, NNUH joins a growing movement of more than 700 employers in England across various sectors, including FTSE 100 companies, leading retailers, government departments and local authorities.

Mr Over added: 'Signing the Time to Change employer pledge signals our commitment to changing how we think about mental health in the workplace, as we want all colleagues to feel valued and supported at work.
