Police have reopened part of Newmarket Road in Norwich following a crash which left one person trapped in their vehicle.

The accident, which involved a black Fiat Punto and a silver Volkswagen van, took place at the junction with Christchurch Road shortly before 10.30am on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said officers had closed the city-bound lane to traffic from the roundabout with Daniels Road. It reopened at 12.24pm.

The spokesman added: 'One vehicle is on its side, with one person trapped inside.'
