The commemorative drink, called Wild Norfolk, and is being made by Wildcraft Brewery, on Coltishall Road, Buxton, which uses foraged ingredients.

It has been inspired by suggestions from the general public who took part in an online survey asking what people wanted from their ideal beer.

Wild Norfolk will be available across the county at more than 100 pubs, shops and restaurants.

Customers can also buy the Indian Pale Ale dry hopped-style beer direct from the brewery from July 21.

The inaugural Norfolk Day is happening on Friday, July 27, and will see residents, businesses and charities celebrating what is great about the county through a variety of events.

Dan Lacey, Wildcraft Brewery sales manager, said: 'The public can expect another Wildcraft Beer, which is bursting with flavour. We felt it was very important to be involved in the first Norfolk Day, as Norfolk has been very supportive towards Wildcraft in our first couple of years and we wanted to give something back.'

Donations sales of Wild Norfolk will go towards Aylsham-based Star Volunteers, which is run by Jenny Burrell and carries out humanitarian projects in Marrakesh in Morocco.

'We have chosen to support and highlight the excellent work of Star Volunteers as Jenny Burrell is a great supporter of the brewery.

'She is doing wonderful work in Morocco and for us it is all about community.

'Norfolk Day has proved to be an excellent forum for raising of awareness and promotion of local businesses and charities, while acknowledging the local people who work in them,' Mr Lacey said.

Prices for Wild Norfolk are £75 for a cask, £41 for a pin and bag in box, and £19.20 for a case of 12 bottles.

Advanced beer orders can now be made by visiting www.wildcraftbrewery.co.uk, calling 01603 278054 or visiting the microbrewery.

Norfolk Day is sponsored by Woodforde's Brewery and Richardson's Hemsby Beach Holiday Park.
