The third 'Fat Cat' pub in Norwich is due to open in about six weeks' time and will be getting a new name.

As reported last month, entrepreneur Colin Keatley bought the freehold at the Mustard Pot in Thorpe Road. He also has the Fat Cat in West End Street, which opened more than 20 years ago, and the Fat Cat Brewery Tap in Lawson Road. The new pub will serve real ales from the Fat Cat Brewery, and Mr Keatley said: 'We have had a few teething problems but we are hoping to open in about six weeks' time. The pub will also get a new name, which will include the words Fat Cat, but I'm not yet revealing what the full name will be.'

Earlier this month, The Fat Cat pub won this year's Camra Norwich and Norfolk Pub of the Year award and is through to the next round of the national pub of the year competition, which it won on both the previous times it reached this stage.
