A football club's dream to have a state-of-the-art sports complex will come to fruition this autumn.
Work on the £1m Youngs Community Sports Trust on the outskirts of Aylsham is nearing completion and will feature 10 pitches and a social clubhouse.
It will be the new permanent home for Aylsham Football Club and the 20 acres of land was gifted by William Youngs and his brother Nick, whose sons are Rugby Union stars Ben and Tom Youngs.
William Youngs, 57, chairman of the sports trust, said: 'It is going to be fantastic. When it is completed it is going to be one of the best community sporting centres in East Anglia. It is nice in life to hand over something you are proud of.'
The daily running of the sports hub will be transferred from the Youngs Community Sports Trust to volunteers from the football club, which will move to site in September.
Construction work started last year and the sports hub, off the B1145 Cawston Road, is part of a Persimmon Homes development for 250 houses.
Land for the pitches and clubhouse was worth £1m and £500,000 was provided through a property deal through the housing development. An extra £500,000 of grants was raised by Aylsham FC and the Youngs Community Sports Trust.
Aylsham FC secretary Mick McCann said: 'The new site means the world to us. It was there as a dream and is going to come to fruition. It will allow the club to progress.' The club has 17 teams and currently plays at Bure Valley School, Aylsham High School and Aylsham Recreation Ground.
