A sailing legend will be giving a talk and explaining the new 2017 racing rules at a special event in Lowestoft next week.

The Royal Norfolk & Suffolk Yacht Club (RN&SYC) will host an evening with Michael McNamara next Friday, March 17 from 6.30pm.

A club spokesman said: 'The RN&SYC has managed to get sailing legend and local sailor Michael McNamara to give the talk which is open and free to all local sailors – all we ask is that anybody interested in attending contacts the RN&SYC so we have an idea of numbers to expect/cater for.'

The dinghy sailing legend has won numerous world, national and European titles and is also the UK National Cadet Coach. He will illustrate the new rules of racing at this informal evening for sailors.

Food will be served from 6.30pm with the talk at 8pm. As this is expected to be a very popular evening, book by calling 01502 566726.
