Thursday March 8 is National Pothole Day. Here is what our Facebook followers had to say about the condition of Norfolk's roads.
Neville Yardy: 'I reported about six potholes to NCC about two weeks ago and they were repaired very promptly indeed, some within a couple of days. Unfortunately two weeks on, five of them are out again and in most cases far worse than what they were when I reported them.'
John Cooper: 'My son hit a pothole near Smallburgh in his car with low profile tyres and wrecked his tyre and the wheel.'
Debbie Christie: 'My tyre was shredded at Billingford. They have now filled it in. I don't know what they are doing about the roads but there are potholes everywhere. They don't seem to repair the roads are they used to. Just a quick patch up and that's it! Apparently claiming to the council can take years. I'm sick of it!'
Joshua Baldwin: 'I hit a pothole a few years back when I borrowed a family members car. Tore the side wall on the tire and cracked the wheel. I returned it to the family member with around £250 worth of damage. We tried to claim the damage from the council and had no luck as apparently they were not aware of the hole.'
MORE: Potholes task force hits the roadAlli Steward: 'I have sent off a claim after a pothole buckled my alloy on my nearly new car. Potholes cause havoc for motorcycles and cyclists who can suddenly swerve to avoid them.'
Kate Young: 'They need to deal with the one on the slip road A47 at Dereham (Norwich bound). The last thing I need to be doing when merging is worrying about the long pothole.'
Sam Crammer: 'Nice big one on the way to Swanton Morley from Dereham which bust my tyre!'
Chris Key: 'Is there anyway I can put a claim in for fuel? I'm sure I have added miles to my car just by driving around them.'
Cliff Saunders: 'Just replaced a broken front spring due to these road craters we have now.'
MORE: Rise in claims against county council due to defective roadsKaren Drake: 'The A11 especially from Wymondham to Thetford is a disgrace to Highways England. We have only moved near Attleborough in the past year and have watched the deterioration of this main road out of Norfolk as well as the quick fix. My husband has broken a spring on his car last week. If you try and avoid the potholes it looks like you are drunk driving!'
Fred Smiff: 'Have anyone tried avoiding the ones on the A11 between Thetford and Norwich lately?'
Donna Fleming: 'A47 between Lowestoft and Gorleston, accident waiting to happen. Caused me to have a tyre blow out.'
Benny Benefer: 'My dad once said to me he hit a pothole that so big his sat-nav told him to make a u-turn when possible.'
Kay Snow: 'I've had to have four new tyres and a new steel in a space of five weeks.'
Mandy Thomas: 'I worry about motor cyclists. Our car travels over huge holes but they are so dangerous to people on bikes.'
Catherine Whitney: 'Potholes look more like sink holes.'
