LORNA MARSH

Detectives hunting a Norwich Union manager's missing teenage daughter have revealed she may have been upset over a break-up with her boyfriend.

It has now been 10 days since Natasha Coombs went missing after a night out with friends, and police said they were becoming ever more concerned for her welfare.

The 17-year-old, whose father works in Norwich as a mergers and acquisitions manager for NU, was last seen boarding a train in Ipswich at 11.15pm on Friday July 27.

Police said a signal from her mobile phone was last traced near to Manningtree station, where she should have changed trains to travel home.

Officers have been combing woodland near the railway station in the hope of finding clues and helicopter search teams have been scouring the area.

Natasha, who has not gone missing before, was due to go on holiday today with her parents to Toronto, Canada, which she was said to be looking forward to.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers believe she may have been upset about a recent break up. But there's no indication she was planning to disappear. She had no additional clothes with her and wears disposable contact lenses with no spares in her possession.”

On her profile page on networking website Bebo she describes her boyfriend as “Josh” and says she loves him, even though they were “on and off all the time”.

A 19-year-old named Josh has set up another Bebo page appealing for help in finding her.

Natasha vanished about an hour after telling her parents that she was en-route to her home in Dovercourt, Essex, after a Chinese meal in Ipswich with two girlfriends.

Police have CCTV footage showing the teenager boarding a train in Ipswich, but they say there were no cameras on the train and cameras at Manningtree station in Essex, where Natasha should have changed trains, were not working.

Officers are scrutinising CCTV footage from every railway station along the Norwich to London mainline and branches off from Manningtree to see if they could find any trace of the teenager.

Natasha is white, 5ft 3in, slim with brown highlighted hair. When last seen she was wearing a purple sequinned top, a purple, pink and white skirt, a white jacket and pumps.
