INVESTIGATIVE work is continuing at a nuclear power station after one of its two turbines had to be taken offline.

Sizewell B is currently operating at half power.

EDF Energy, which owns the station, took the decision to bring turbine generator two offline on Wednesday after a steam leak was discovered.

Last night a spokesman said investigative work was going well and turbine one was generating enough power for around one million homes.

The turbines are away from the nuclear area of the site and bosses have assured the problem does not present a safety risk.
