It has been in the planning for months - but tomorrow is the big night.

More than 250 finalists, families, friends and guests will don their finery and head into Norwich for our magical Stars of Norfolk and Waveney Awards tomorrow evening.

During the glittering ceremony, acts of outstanding bravery, dedicated fundraising and tireless generosity will be recognised as we reveal the winners of 14 awards, in categories ranging from Carer of the Year to Young Person of the Year.

The awards - our third - will be the first with the new addition of Waveney District Council.

Nigel Pickover, EDP editor in chief, said: 'We were delighted to expand our Stars awards to Waveney this year, a decision which will see us bring people from every corner of Norfolk and north Suffolk together.

'It will be a one of a kind event, a magical night and a chance for us to thank the everyday heroes that make our county such a special place to live.'

Since the awards were launched in spring, we have been sent hundreds of nominations by our readers.

Our panel of judges - including representatives from the area's councils and emergency services - pored over the list to whittle them down to just three per category.

Don't miss our coverage in Friday's EDP and a special eight-page souvenir supplement in Monday's paper.
