The Ouse Washes Molly Dancers will be running a free workshop next month in Downham Market, teaching the only known form of local traditional dance in the Fens.

Molly dancing was performed by Norfolk and Cambridgeshire farm workers on Plough Monday, the first Monday after Epiphany, as a way of raising funds after Christmas.

The tradition goes back a very long way, and the Ouse Washes Dancers are hoping to encourage prospective dancers and musicians who might be interested in joining the group which meets every Monday.

For a fun afternoon and the chance to experience the traditional dance, join the group at the Town Hall in Downham Market from 1pm on November 12.
