A man in his 70s was taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Dereham.

The accident happened yesterday, just after 1.30pm on Station Road, near the junction with the Morrison's supermarket.

Police, fire and ambulance attended, including two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, and a medical response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity.

A spokesman for the Trust confirmed that a man, believed to be in his 70s, was treated for a serious leg injury and taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further care.

A woman was also treated on scene and a small section of the carriageway had to be temporarily closed. The road was reopened at 3.20pm.

The two cars involved are believed to be a black Renault Clio and a red Ford Fiesta.
