A man has suffered serious injuries after a single vehicle collision which saw a van leave the road and collide with a tree near Mundford.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the A134 at Lynford at around 7.40am.

Fire crews took an hour to help cut out the male victim. He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance along with another patient, according to a spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

The spokesman said one of the patients had a suspected fractured leg, while the other had minor abrasions.

The road was closed from Thetford while recovery took place.
