A man suffered a serious chest injury in a collision near Downham Market this morning.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision at around 6.30am.

Police said a Vauxhall Astra van was travelling towards Littleport when it was in collision with a Peugeot travelling in the same direction. An ambulance spokesman said: 'We sent two ambulances and an ambulance officer to assist and treated two patients. One was treated for a serious chest injury and taken to QEH in critical condition. The second was treated for neck and back injuries and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a stable condition.'
