An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital after sustaining serious injuries during a fire at Barton Turf, near Stalham.
The patient in his 70s suffered burns and smoke inhalation as a result of the blaze which broke out in the garage of a house on Pennygate shortly before noon.
He was flown to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by air ambulance after receiving treatment at the scene.
Fire crews from North Walsham, Sprowston and Norwich were called to tackle the blaze, which destroyed the garage and a car and damaged an adjacent outbuilding.
