A man has been charged with a host of offences in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft including assault and stealing meat and ladies underwear.
Ricky Van Hooser, 26, of London Road South, Lowestoft, has been charged with assaulting a member of staff at the Tesco store at Leisure Way in Lowestoft on Thursday, August 16.
He was arrested in Regent Road in Yarmouth on Wednesday, August 22, and was charged with obstructing and resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty - an offence which occurred during his arrest - making off without payment and four theft from shop offences.
He was interviewed by officers at the town's Police Investigation Centre over a number of offences and was charged with the three thefts in Lowestoft and one in Yarmouth.
These include incidents at the One Stop shop in Sands Lane, Lowestoft, on Wednesday, August 15, where packs of clothes washing gel were stolen and the theft of meat from the Co-Op shop at Gresham Avenue, Lowestoft, on August 10, plus an incident in Great Yarmouth on Wednesday 22, where ladies underwear was stolen from a store in the town centre.
He has also been charged with assault by beating and the theft of Playstation games after the attack at the Lowestoft Tesco store, in which the member of staff suffered swelling and bruising to his hands.
He has also been charged with making off without payment after the alleged non-payment of a taxi fare in Lowestoft on June 8.
He has been detained in custody pending an appearance at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court.
