A 32-year-old man has been charged with arson following a Boxing Day blaze on a petrol station forecourt.
Hussain Murad, from Leicestershire, was charged with arson with intent to endanger life after police investigated a car fire at a BP garage off the A47, just outside Swaffham.
Murad appeared before King's Lynn magistrates this morning and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance, due on January 11.
The fire caused the A47 to be closed in both directions for more than six hours after emergency crews found the flames had spread to the pumps.
Disaster was averted when a garage worker pressed the emergency button, shutting down the power and fuel supply, before making her escape.
