A 29-year-old man was due to appear before magistrates after being charged in connection with an armed robbery.
Ben McRoberts, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Friday, March 10, in connection with an armed robbery incident at an address in the Surrey Street area of Lowestoft last Tuesday.
He was charged with the robbery of a man on March 7, where cash, a mobile phone and a bank card were stolen, and possession of an imitation firearm in relation to the same incident. McRoberts was also charged with a burglary on March 6, also in Surrey Street, where a guitar, a suitcase and speakers were stolen, along with possession of an imitation firearm and possession of a knife last Friday.
He was due to appear before Norwich Magistrates on Saturday morning. After McRoberts was charged, temporary det sgt Stephen Clarke tweeted: 'Some really good work by Lowestoft CID, Lowestoft police response and Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies' firearms officers to make this happen, protecting the public.'
