A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash which claimed the lives of three Lowestoft teenagers.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash which claimed the lives of three Lowestoft teenagers.

Sisters Claire and Jennifer Stoddart and their friend Carla Took died after their car collided with another on the A12, south of Blythburgh, near Southwold at 12.50am on Saturday.

The crash also claimed the life of 40-year-old Simon Bonner, of Yoxford, near Southwold, who was a passenger in the Laguna.

The 21-year-old driver of the Laguna was arrested shortly after being discharged from the James Paget Hospital, Gorleston, where he had been treated for leg injuries following the crash. He was taken to Lowestoft police station where he was questioned.

A 41-year-old woman who was also in the Laguna is still in a critical condition at the James Paget Hospital.
