Lowestoft police are trying to trace a man who approached a girl in London Road North on Wednesday and asked her to go with him.
The 10-year-old girl was near Poundstretcher when the man approached her at about 3.50pm.
She ran away after he asked her to go with him.
The man was in his 40s or early 50s, had a small grey strip beard, short messy dark hair and had a dirty appearance.
He was wearing light blue jeans.
