People are being invited into the Vancouver Quarter in King's Lynn on Saturday (July 22) to upcycle their unwanted clothing as part of a make do and mend workshop.

Running from 10am to 3pm in the unit opposite to Wilko in New Conduit Street, those interested in attending are encouraged to bring their own clothing to create cushion covers, bags and keepsakes without needles and thread.

This free drop-in session is running the day before the Forties Lynn - Life on the Home Front event. It is suitable for children aged three years and above but they must be supervised by adults at all times.

'With it being Forties Lynn the following day, it seemed fitting to host an upcycling event that would have been commonplace for Lynn's residents during the Second World War as they 'kept calm and carried on,' said Vancouver Quarter's marketing and events assistant David Blackmore.
