A major air, sea and land search was launched in the Lowestoft area after reports that a dinghy carrying two boys had capsized.
Yarmouth Coastguard was alerted at 4.30pm on Saturday and sent out lifeboats from Lowestoft and Southwold as well as teams on foot. The air sea rescue helicopter was also scrambled.
A spokesman for the coastguard said the search last for about five hours and although, no-one was found, he was satisfied the boys had safely got back to shore.
