Police have named a man from the Lowestoft area who died in a crash on Monday as Neil Hunt.
Mr Hunt, 59, was driving a MGF on the A17 in Newark, Nottinghamshire, when he was invovled in a collision with a lorry and a van.
His car was badly damaged and he was trapped inside for about two hours while firefighters worked to free him.
He was airlifted to Lincoln County Hospital where he died from serious multiple injuries.
Mr Hunt was named by Nottinghamshire Police which is appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at about 7.45am, to contact officers on 0300 300 9999.
