As temperatures soared organisers of a popular Easter Egg Trail had their work cut out to ensure that the sweet treats reserved for those taking part didn't melt in the conditions.
With hundreds of youngsters part of this year's free egg trail event organised by Lowestoft Lions, the Lions kept the chocolate eggs – that were being distributed as rewards for correctly completing the course – cool in the midst of a meltdown.
As the Easter Egg Trail was aimed at children aged 10 and under, hundreds of youngsters – many wearing Easter bunny ears and bonnets – scoured Sparrow's Nest Gardens in Lowestoft on Sunday, April 21.
As they searched for the answers to clues needed to secure one of the 500 Easter egg prizes on offer, the Lowestoft Lions, were kept busy keeping the eggs cool.
Lion President Michael Cook said the event was 'really great.'
He said: 'The weather was the best we have had for many years and it was great to see everybody taking part in the Easter egg trail.
'We had to be careful to store the chocolate eggs in a cool place to avoid a meltdown in the heat.
'Lowestoft Lions organise events like this to help boost community spirit and we are particularly grateful to this year's sponsors Nicholsons Solicitors. 'We have held this free event at Easter for the past 17 years and it keeps going from strength to strength.'
The children had to complete a quiz sheet by finding the answers to 40 questions, which had been hidden on boards around the park, before heading to the Lions tent to claim their chocolate reward.
But the fun didn't stop there, as there were also stalls to enjoy, food available from Beccles Lions as well as dancing, games, bubbles and magic shows with children's entertainers Steff and her mischievous puppet 'Nonsense'.
