FIREFIGHTERS from Lowestoft spent less than 30 minutes tackling a chimney fire in the town.
Two crews from Lowestoft South fire station were called out at 6.53pm last night (Saturday) to the blaze in Blackheath Road, Lowestoft following reports of 'a building on fire,' according to Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at 6.58pm and discovered a chimney fire.
'Small gear, a water back pack and chimney rods were used to fight the fire,' a spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said, 'The incident was under control by 7.21pm and all crews were back at home station by 7.34pm.'
