A MAIN north Suffolk road is likely to be closed for 'a couple of hours' this morning, according to police, as a jacknifed lorry is recovered after an early-morning incident.
A white Mercedes articulated lorry came off the main southbound carriageway of the A12 at Benacre about 3.10am this morning (Wednesday) and 'went down a 5ft incline' according to police.
Officers are waiting for the main rush-hour traffic to pass before the vehicle is recovered, as the 12 tonne trailer lorry remains on its side in a ditch.
'A crane will pull the vehicle out of the ditch and we're looking to do this after rush-hour traffic, about 9.30am,' a police spokesman said. 'The road will be closed for two hours and there may be some delays as the whole of the A12 road at Benacre is closd.'
