Members of the 1st Long Stratton Beavers group celebrated 25 years of Beaver Scouting by wearing their uniforms to school.

More than 20 youngsters wore their uniforms at Manor Field Infant and Nursery, St Mary's Junior School, Forncett St Peter Primary School and Aslacton Primary School on April 1.

They talked about Beavers to their friends at break times and in front of the whole school in assemblies. One group of Beavers performed the colony opening song at registration to start the day, and another Beaver said the promise as part of his school's collective worship.

Peter Thurston, assistant Beaver scout leader, said: 'All the Beavers really enjoyed the chance to wear their uniforms to school and tell their friends about the fun they have at Beavers.'

Beavers is the youngest section in Scouting for boys and girls aged between six and eight-years-old. For more information about the Long Stratton group, call 01508 531100.
