West Norfolk pupils welcomed an elite athlete to help celebrate their acceptance to a London Olympics scheme.
Sprinter Tyrone Swaray greeted youngsters at the Sheridan School in Northwold, near Brandon, which caters for children with social, emotional, learning and behavioural difficulties to help celebrate the school becoming a member of the London 2012 Get Set Network.
Through the programme Sheridan School has been doing work linked with London 2012 and the Olympic and Paralympic games, and has now been recognised by the London 2012 Organising Committee as a school that is demonstrating its commitment to Olympic and Paralympic values.
As a result the school is guaranteed free tickets to London 2012.
A London 2012 hopeful, Swaray, was given a short tour of the school, before meeting with parents and pupils.
He then gave some of the pupils a special coaching session followed by demonstrations on how to run the 100 metres.
School principal Andy Clarke said: 'Having Tyrone here has been fantastic for the children and the school.
'To have such a high calibre athlete here, coaching and explaining to our pupils just what Olympic values stand for is amazing.
'Also having our efforts recognised by the London 2012 committee, and being made a member of the Get Set Network is such an honour and we intend to uphold the Olympic and Paralympic values.'
The sprinter, who trained with the likes of former World Champion Maurice Green in 2000, presented the children with certificates as part of the school's open day for parents.
