Shoppers will be tempted to spend their cash in north Norfolk over the festive period with the bait of three hours free parking on the four Sundays leading up to Christmas.
North Norfolk District Council's cabinet this morning agreed to the measure which will apply to all its car parks.
The suggestion was made to the council by Holt Chamber of Commerce as a way of boosting trade on Sundays.
Council leader Keith Johnson said he hoped it would encourage shoppers to explore the district's seaside and market towns rather than heading for Norwich. Mr Johnson appealed to traders to take advantage of the move and open up on the four Sundays.
