Controversial plans for 300 new homes on the edge of Downham Market will be discussed next week.
Developers were given the go-ahead to build 170 houses on land off the A1122 by-pass two years ago. But now they want to build a further 130 properties on the site, on the town's south-eastern outskirts.
West Norfolk council's planning committee will discuss the development when it meets at the council offices in Chapel Street, King's Lynn, on Monday.
The Grosvenor Partnership, which is based on the Isle of man, says the increase is 'achieveable'.
But residents fear the town's schools and GP surgeries will not be able to cope with increased demand.
Hundreds packed a public meeting last month before Downham Market Town Council voted to oppose the development. Even if the extra 130 houses are turned down, Grosvenor will still have planning permission for the original 170.
