Lifeboat crew called out to stricken fishing boat off West Runton coast

A lifeboat crew was called out after a fishing boat was reported to be in trouble off the north Norfolk coast.

The Sheringham lifeboat was tasked by Humber Coastguard to search for the boat the Early Bird at 5pm on Tuesday last week.

The boat had been reported to be in trouble off the coast of West Runton.

With good weather, the lifeboat crew, helmed by David Hagan, with crewmen Chris Taylor, Liam Cooper and Kate Munro, found the boat about 500 metres off the beach at West Runton.

The lifeboat crew tried to restart the boat’s engine, to no avail.

They then towed the boat and its occupant back to shore at West Runton.

The lifeboat then returned to station and was rehoused and ready for serve again at 8pm.
