The fun began at 11am with an opening ceremony by Watton Pentecostal Church and at about 1pm the parade, featuring town mayor Beryl Bunning and six carnival princess and princes, headed into the town, which was bathed in bright sunshine.
In a first for the long-standing event, the town's mascot Hareton also took part in the procession and helped bring smiles to people's faces.
As well as a small army of stalls and children's rides, people enjoyed music from Dale Bullimore and rock and roll band Badge as people could be seen dancing in the High Street.
