A 4x4 came off the road and ended up in a canal in North Walsham this morning.

The Landrover left the carriageway at White Horse Common at around 8.20am and plunged into the water.

Firefighters from Mundesley and North Walsham were called to the scene and helped the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, and made the scene safe.

Police were also called and the driver was left in the care of paramedics.

Officers tweeted a warning to motorists this morning to take care on the county's roads due to ice and frost, and said they had dealt with a number of collisions.
