King's Lynn will come alive with the sound of the music from some of the biggest TV shows, films, theatre and the classics.

Following a villains and heroes theme, the BBC Concert Orchestra will be returning to the Corn Exchange with a two-hour show for the King's Lynn Festival.

Some of the infamous tunes planned for the concert, on Wednesday, July 26, include the Darth Vader theme, The Godfather, Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones.

There are more than 22 themes and tunes on the programme, whichwill give King's Lynn Festival national exposure.

A recording of the show planned to be broadcast on BBC Radio 2's popular Friday Night is Music Night on August 4, at 8pm.

It is the longest-running live orchestral radio programme since it was established in 1953.

BBC Radio 2 producer Bridget Apps decided on adopting the villains and heroes theme for the night to try to cater for all ages.

'A lot of themes come up in music. We run lots of themes on the show, recently we had wizards, magic and spells with music from Harry Potter.

'In music, there is a whole host of heroes which is balanced with a whole host of villains and they're in films, musicals and classical music.

'Film is so popular - it appeals to all, young and old.'

Rehearsals and setting up the orchestra, which includes around 50 players and their instruments, can take almost 12 hours on the day of the event.

The BBC have flown in duelling violinists Vladimir and Anton from Ireland especially for the show.

The Slovakian brothers will be hosting a free family event on Sunday, July 16, at the Corn Exchange to give a flavour of what is to come.

Chairman of the festival, Alison Croose, said: 'We are absolutely delighted they are coming back again it is a real compliment to King's Lynn.

'We hope it will give Lynn the same profile it did two years ago, it was so lovely to hear King's Lynn and the Corn Exchange mentioned dozens of times over several weeks.

'I know people are pleased with the theme and the variety of music they're going to play, they're a fantastic orchestra.'
