To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week (March 14-18), which aims to show how 'an apprenticeship can take you anywhere', here's a guide to some of the apprenticeships currently available in the county.

At present there are 94 apprenticeship opportunities on covering a wide range of skills and trades, including retail, finance and marketing. Below is a brief look at some of the apprenticeships on offer for high school leavers or those seeking a career change.

Apprentice in Body RepairChris Brown Body Repairs currently has an opening for an apprentice to join their team in Downham Market. This unique opportunity will pay £132 per week and the successful candidate will be involved in numerous aspects of the workshop.

Marketing ApprenticeThis Norwich based position with Hugh J Boswell insurance brokers requires a minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above and will involve working on the company website, assisting with blogs and press releases and social media promotion.

Apprentice Retail Assistant Working in Nuts n Bolts DIY shop in Attleborough, this apprenticeship will provide an interesting opportunity for anyone looking to pursue a career in the retail sector. The successful candidate will gain useful retail training leading to a Level 2 NVQ in retail skills.

Apprentice Finance OfficerIf you enjoy working with numbers and are interested in accounts, this could be the perfect apprenticeship for you. Future Projects in Norwich is seeking an apprentice finance officer to assist their team. The ideal candidate should have Maths and English GCSEs at grades A-C.

Apprentice CarerThe Vineries, a privately owned care home in Hemsby is looking for someone to assist in providing support for their elderly residents who are either physically disabled or suffering with dementia. Training will be provided for the successful candidate by City College Norwich where you will work towards a Diploma in Health and Social Care.
