The inquest into the deaths of four west Suffolk men killed on a building site will take place today, more than three years after they died.

Brothers Daniel, 30, and Tom Hazelton, 26, and their workmates Peter 'PJ' Johnson, 42, and Adam Taylor, 28, died in January 2011 after the steel structure they were working in collapsed at a site in Great Yarmouth.

Three of the four men, who were from Stanton and Rickinghall, had young families.

The deaths have already been subject to a joint investigation between the Norfolk Constabulary and the Health & Safety Executive.

The inquest will begin today at the Sprowston Manor Hotel, in Norwich.

Hannah Clarke, a personal injury specialist at Ashton KCJ solicitors, will be representing the men's families. She said: 'From the families' perspective, there are many questions which remain unanswered.

'We will be attending the inquest on their behalf, in order to provide any assistance we can to coroner Jacqueline Lake in ascertaining the exact circumstances that led to their tragic deaths.'

Marilyn Hazelton, 60, mother to Daniel and Tom, will also be present.

She said: 'I just want to get everything clear in my own head and I want to be there because I want to hear everything first hand.

'I think that it will make it even harder, the fact it's been such a long time.'

Talented footballer Daniel had played for the youth teams of Norwich United and Colchester United before playing for local teams Stanton and Walsham. He had a young son, Freddie, with his partner Sam Ellis.

His brother and keen fisherman, Tom, was father to Alfie and partner to Charlotte Oliver.

Mr Johnson worked as a DJ in his spare time and was learning the saxophone.

He is survived by his daughter, Bethany Cotton.

Mr Taylor was also a talented footballer, having played for Walsham as well as playing for and managing Rickinghall.
