After a driver was caught by police speeding on the A11 at Wymondham on Friday evening, she told officers: 'I know I was speeding - I'm late for the hairdressers.'
The driver, who was travelling at 91mph, has since been reported to court.
PC Steve Lee took to Twitter to say it 'clearly isn't a valid excuse'.
He said: '#A11 wymondham - 'I know I was speeding officer I'm late for the hairdressers' clearly that isn't a valid excuse. Driver reported #tor'
Speeding is one of the so-called fatal four, which also include using a mobile phone, not wearing a seatbelt or drink/drug driving, the four biggest dangers while driving.
