A marine survey vessel has been carrying out repairs to a tidal guage.

The £6m Wash Tidal Guage, off the Lincolnshire coast, helps the Environment Agency measure tides, predict flooding and assess the impact of climate change on sea levels.

The 11m platform, off Sutton Bridge, is one of a network of 44 around our coastline which also measure wind speed and direction, air pressure and water quality.

The Humber Guardian was berthed at pontoons on the River Ouse, in King's Lynn after completing work on the instrument.

The 18m twin-engined vessel is thought to be one of the largest to use the moorings since they opened five years ago.
