Thousands of people have been given a chance to get up close to one of the most famous units of the British Army at a thank you event in Norfolk.
Today saw the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment host a public open day at Bodney Camp, near Swaffham, as part of their month-long stay in the county.
About 5,000 people attended the event, during which the regiment, made up of 140 horses and 300 soldiers, put on a day to remember in the sunshine.
The regiment staged its famous musical ride and the grand finale saw a gallop of dozens of horses.
Other activities and displays included a tentpegging jousting contest, a showjumping competition, a performance by the army's White Arrows motorcycle team and a small array of stalls.
The regiment has been at the camp for three weeks and will begin returning to its London barracks during the week.
Each year members of the regiment come to Bodney Camp for a change of pace and while they are in Norfolk the soldiers and their mounts usually enjoy a day out on Holkham beach.
