A passenger had a narrow escape when an object was thrown through the windows of a bus as it passed through a Norfolk village.

The incident happened at Horsford at 7.30pm on Thursday as the First double-decker was in Horsbeck Way approaching the industrial estate entrance.

Police said the unknown object hit the window of the number 26 bus, passed through the interior and went out the other side.

'The object narrowly missed a female passenger,' said a statement by Norfolk police who said it 'could have potentially been a very serious incident'.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who noticed suspicious behaviour in the area or who knows who did it. They should contact PC Steve Coe on 0845 456 4567 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
