A group of 20 people from north Norfolk completed a 316 mile cycle challenge from Wales to Sheringham this week, raising thousands of pounds for sufferers of Parkinson's disease.

Brother and sister team, Rachel and Luke Abendroth of Holt, organised the event after their father Paul was diagnosed with the condition in 2009 at the age of 53.

This was their second major challenge for the charity Parkinson's UK and have so far raised more than 5,000 of their 10,000 target.

Miss Abendroth said the whole team had 'the most amazing time' on the four day challenge, which saw them arrive at Sheringham's promenade on Thursday.

'The cyclists were amazing and my fellow support drivers were brilliant,' she said.

'We worked out that splitting up the times throughout the days they cycled 316 miles in 22 and a half hours over four days.'

The team began their challenge in Holyhead, Anglesey on Monday.

Miss Abendroth also thanked their sponsors Billy Wright at Pinewoods, P&S Butchers, Brakes, Tim and Kathy Neal of Anglia Paving, Andrew Dawes Builders Ltd, Tim Abbot of The Pigs in Edgefield, Adam and Kirsty at Kings Head in Holt and Iain Wilson of Byfords in Holt.
