A fire crew from Sprowston was tied up after a hoax call.
Someone called the firefighters to a property in Angel Road at around 11.15pm during a busy period yesterday.
The call came from a phone box.
A spokesperson from the Norfolk Fire Service, said: 'Because that appliance was on call we had to bring another appliance in.'
