A Hellesdon man was crushed under a hydraulic ramp as he worked on machinery, an inquest heard today.
The Coroner's Court in Norwich heard how Kevin Holmes, 46, was working under the ramp at GB Digger and Plant Hire on Shorthorn Road in Stratton Strawless on Tuesday, March 3 when it failed.
Paramedics and police were called at around 4.40pm to help Mr Holmes, of Mountfield Avenue in Hellesdon, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A report found the cause of death was 'extensive chest and vertebral injury due to traumatic injury when working under a hydraulic ramp'.
The inquest has been adjourned until autumn this year.
