A nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is celebrating after being shortlisted for a national award.

Tara Webster, acute liaison nurse for learning disabilities, has made the final of the Rising Star category of the 2014 Nursing Times Awards.

The nurse, who was nominated by her manager Tristan Johnson, joined the hospital in December and works with adult inpatients and outpatients every day to ensure the best possible care is given to those with learning disabilities and autism. The awards will be held in London in October.

Emma McKay, director of nursing at the N&N, said: 'We are thrilled that Tara has been recognised for the significant difference she is making to support the NNUH to continue to improve our systems, services and the care that is delivered to patients with learning disabilities and/or autism when they come into hospital.'
