Regulators raise concerns about group which ran closed Norwich hospital

A review by regulators of a group which ran a children’s mental health hospital in Norfolk has found a number of concerns.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out a review into The Huntercombe Group after two Huntercombe hospitals were put into special measures within a year.

The Norfolk hospital, which was in Buxton, closed in November last year after inspectors had visited in September.

The national review concluded that there were deficiencies in the corporate governance arrangements within The Huntercombe Group that adversely affected the quality of care and treatment provided by the five hospitals looked at in Staffordshire, Devon, Berkshire, Worcestershire and Norfolk.

For the hospitals which remained open, they were told they must ensure they had enough trained staff.
