While our Olympians savoured success in Rio, budding athlete Alice Hall tasted gold at a competition for children with diabetes.
Seven-year-old Alice triumphed in the 100m at the East of England Games for Children with Diabetes. Alice, from North Walsham, was cheered to victory by her dad Jason, mum Suzanne Owen and brother Toby.
She joined a team from the Jenny Lind Children's Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital taking part in the competition at Rayleigh in Essex.
Miss Owen said: 'Alice was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in April and what she has achieved is fantastic.'
