Volunteer paramedics, doctors and nurses have been taking part in a special training exercise organised by Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
About 15 new volunteer recruits took part in the training at the weekend.
NARS chairman Chris Neil said: 'This course was a great success and brings the charity one step closer towards providing critical care around the clock.'
He appealed for people to make donations to support NARS, a charity which was formed in 1970 to help increase the level of medical expertise at life-threatening incidents.
'It will take us about four to five years to highly train the new NARS clinicians before they can attend life threatening emergencies alone, and this equates to £8,000 per person,' he said.
