Daisy Mason, from East Winch near King's Lynn, was born 12 weeks early and has quadriplegic cerebral palsy.

But the brave little infant has not let her disability get in her way after recently competing in the superhero series triathlon in Windsor, Berks.

She has inspired Sarah Byatt and Nicola Ward, who both work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, to set up a fundraising page to help raise funds for her physiotherapy in Kids Physio Works (KPW) in Colchester and for specialist equipment.

Branding themselves as Daisy's Divas, the pair will be taking on the Great North Run on Sunday, September 10, dressed as daisy flowers.

They said: 'Daisy is a happy, determined and driven little girl and we are delighted to take part in the Great North Run to help support her.'

Daisy's mum, Lucy Mason, said the physiotherapy at KPW has helped her daughter greatly.

'We have just returned from a three day block and we can really see the difference with her sitting and core strength,' Mrs Mason added.

'Daisy competed in a superhero triathlon recently and cycled, swam and wheeled herself further than she ever has before which shows that the extra physio is really working.

'The therapy is so expensive and we are really grateful to Sarah and Nicola for raising awareness and much needed funds for this.'

To help with the fundraising Daisy's Divas have been busy crafting handmade Daisy hearts which, thanks to the power of social media, has led to hearts being made and sent in from as far away as America.

The Divas are set to receive over 2,000 hearts which will all be tagged with Daisy's Divas Just Giving page details.

Local businesses in King's Lynn and Hunstanton are helping to spread the Daisy love by offering hearts in exchange for donations.

Hearts are available from Bobtailz Hairdressers in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hairshare, The Daily Grind Cafe, Heidi's Hair and Beauty, The Barbers Shop, Tanfastic and Shan's Fabrics in Hunstanton.
