A village pub which in the past has had its fair share of extra 'spirits' is set to feature in a reality television show.
The White Lady Inn, at Worstead, named after the ghostly apparition of a white lady who has been seen sitting in the local church pews, is one of the venues being featured on the Four in a Bed television show.
The show allows bed and breakfast owners to throw open their doors and take turns to stay with one another –and pay what they consider fair for their stay.
At the end, the one who makes the most profit is named the winner.
The programmes featuring The White Lady landlord Dennis Gilligan and his best friend Gary Coaley are being screened this week on Channel 4 at 5pm, with the Worstead pub featuring tonight. Mr Gilligan said: 'Being part of this programme gave us a fantastic experience.
'It was like a Carry-On film and we were creased up with laughter most of the time. When you see the programme it turned out to be a comedy show, but we are sworn to secrecy'.
Speaking about the ghostly goings-on in his pub, Mr Gilligan, who renovated the 17th-century pub three years ago, said: 'We've experienced items being moved, spooky noises coming from the cellar and a feeling of being watched.'
He explained that the strange and 'eerie' happenings started after some of the renovations were carried out and said: 'Because we are right next door to the church, it makes it even spookier.'
