A MAN was assaulted when he tried to stop three men stealing his bike in Halesworth.

The 25-year-old had left his bike unlocked while shopping at the Co-Op store in Saxons Way at around 6.20pm on Wednesday, January 18.

When he left the store he saw three men walking down an alleyway with the bike. He went after them and was punched before the three left leaving his bike behind.

The first man is described as white, in his early 20s, about 6ft 1in, of skinny build and wearing a dark coloured baseball cap and dark coloured hooded top.

The second is white, of similar height and build and wearing a black Adidas coat with the hood up, while the third is described as white, around 5ft 6in, with short blond hair and wearing a white hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers.

Anyone who saw the incident or who recognises the descriptions is asked to call PC 14 Phillips on 101.
